There was low crime and the schools were good enough. The town is small and rural and is located in the hills of eastern Oklahoma. It is surrounded by lakes, rivers, and forests. It has decent amenities for a small town with multiple restaurants and stores.

The lake and rivers are beautiful and are great for swimming, hiking, boating, and fishing. The people are also very friendly.
