I live in Kissimmee and you have it so wrong. Every city has a bad area. We have a beautiful Lakefront park, renovating mainstreet downtown trying to keep the great small feel. Yes outside the city are Walmarts, Costcos and other big commercial stores. Osceola Regional Hospital is level 2 trauma center and primary Heart institute and Stroke center. We also have lits of opportunity for employment in Service industries and of course the theme parks. Good college with Valencia to UCF. So we accepted to help a huge influx of citizens from Puerto Rico after the hurricaine devistated their island and our unemployment rate is now high. It has certainly changed here, but definitely not the worse place in Florida to live.
Really, Kissimee--- I've lived in Orlando my whole life. Kissimmee is less than 10 minutes from me. I have to say it's not that bad of a city. Plenty of local family owned businesses. Cool little hole in the wall diners and chill spots. The city has some flavor to it for sure. Great sense of community if you ask me. Call me biased if you want, but consider the fact that I've experienced living in the area firsthand, I'm not someone just looking at numbers on a paper. Don't get me wrong, these numbers are real. The housing is probably too expensive. But there are many more factors you have not taken into account in ranking these cities.
