How do you determine which city is best for singles in Kentucky anyways?
To give you the places in Kentucky which are best for singles to find one another, we have to look at a handful of metrics. Of course, we want to measure the type of people who live in each city, and make some assumptions about what single people like.
So we researched the internet for a database that contains all that information.
How we crunched the numbers for the Bluegrass State
We threw a lot of criteria at this one in order to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the 2015-2019 American Community Survey Census data produced for the state of Kentucky, we looked at every single city in the state. We paid particular attention to:
- Population density
- % of population that's male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better)
- % of households with kids
- Median age
- Number of unmarried people in each city
We then gave each city a Singles Score.
The higher the score, the better the city is for singles to find one another. We also limited our results to cities with populations over 11,000 people. For Kentucky, that meant a total of 35 cities. You can download the data here.
Read on to see why Covington is the talk of the town while Somerset is probably a bit on the boring side.

Obviously, you people have never been to and know absolutely nothing about Kentucky or else you wouldn’t have listed 32 of the 35 towns you listed-where there is absolutely NOTHING to do except go get drunk at a friend’s or stay home and drink. Seriously? You seriously recommended Frankfort? Do you people do ANY research?
The best place for singles in Kentucky seems to be a place just below the commonwealth’s southern border called Tennessee because that is where all the single people in Kentucky between the ages of twenty and fifty that I know are going to look for a partner these days.
