More on Boulder: Data

Boulder is a very unique place – lots of liberal idealism. People live in a somewhat unrealistic world where everyone is equal, everything will be fair if you just fight hard enough, and a gallon of milk is supposed to cost $5. The crime is relatively low, marijuana and drug use is extremely high, and the public school system is fantastic. Architecture and art are incredible; social scene and activities are plentiful – there is always something to do or something to see.
Pearl Street Mall and all of Downtown Boulder is extremely fun, hip, and fast-paced. However, this is also where almost all of the homeless population resides. The Boulder Reservoir has a great swim beach and is fantastic for killing a few hours during the summer. Hiking trails abound, Chatauqua Park is a great option with trails of varying difficulty for any hiker.

Denver is a great city to live in or visit. There are a wide array of things to do within 30 minutes, you can get downtown to see a play, concert or sporting event or drive to the mountains to ski, hike or mountain bike. There are diverse neighborhoods to fit anyone and you’re able to select which school your child attends.
Crimes such as thefts are going up due to the influx of new people. Make sure you keep your car locked up!

I love Colorado Springs. My son and his family live there and I visit four times each year. I don’t like winter, but in the summer we can hike and visit the zoos. Their neighborhood is at the bottom of a mountain, so there is plenty of wildlife.
I love the Garden of the Gods. And I kissed a giraffe at the zoo! Both so much fun.

My family has only lived in Colorado since April. We moved here from Utah for my husbands job. We currently live in Aurora and I HATE it! The congestion and expensive apartments !! We love smaller towns and are trying to find somewhere in Greeley or Evans to move to. Not only is it closer to my husband’s job, but we enjoy the small town feel and would love to raise our kids in a diverse culture as well as a quieter town.

Methodology: How do you determine which city is best for singles in Colorado anyways?
To give you the places in Colorado which are best for singles to find one another, we used Saturday Night Science to look at a handful of metrics. Of course, we want to measure the type of people who live in each city and make some assumptions about what single people like.
So we researched the internet for a database that contains all that information.
We threw a lot of criteria at this one to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the 2019-2023 American Community Survey Census data produced for the state of Colorado, we looked at every single city in the state. We paid particular attention to:
- Population density
- % of population that’s male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better)
- % of households with kids
- Median age
- Number of unmarried people in each city
We then gave each city a “Singles Score.”
The higher the score, the better the city is for singles to find one another. We also limited our results to cities with over 10,000 people. For Colorado, that meant a total of 47 cities.
We updated this article for 2025. This is our tenth time ranking the best cities for singles in Colorado.
Read on to see why Fort Collins is the talk of the town while Fruita is probably a bit on the bland side.
