I’m from Bridgeport and yes our taxes are high but I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Bridgeport is improving for the better no matter what you think.
Where else in Connecticut can you enjoy the zoo, the beach, multiple parks, free outdoor music every week in the summer, out door movie nights, arts festivals, vibes, the theater, catch the ferry and so much more!!!! I am tired of everyone talking about Bridgeport, there are worst places to live.

Hartford is a miserable crime riddled city without any positive attributes. The restaurants are sub-par. The crime rate is through the roof. It is not uncommon to see prostitutes and pimps. You can’t drive more than a couple blocks before you see a drug deal. The mayor is an idiot and is doing nothing to turn his awful city around. Now, the City of Hartford thinks the State of Connecticut should bail them out.
There is nothing worthwhile in this city. The baseball team is a complete joke. The restaurants are sub-par. The parks are heroine needle filled. The roads are full of potholes. The hospitals frequently treat people with gun shot wounds and stabbings. Avoid Hartford, Connecticut at all costs.

Brennans, a hidden pub in a dead end street has to be my favorite place to drink as well as to eat. Their food is phenomenal, the greatest thing along with this is that its right next to the beach so you can spend time at the beach then walk to the bar.

Methodology: How do you determine which city is best for singles in Connecticut anyways?
To give you the places in Connecticut which are best for singles to find one another, we used Saturday Night Science to look at a handful of metrics. Of course, we want to measure the type of people who live in each city and make some assumptions about what single people like.
So we researched the internet for a database that contains all that information.
We threw a lot of criteria at this one to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the 2019-2023 American Community Survey Census data produced for the state of Connecticut, we looked at every single city in the state. We paid particular attention to:
- Population density
- % of population that’s male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better)
- % of households with kids
- Median age
- Number of unmarried people in each city
We then gave each city a “Singles Score.”
The higher the score, the better the city is for singles to find one another. We also limited our results to cities with over 12,000 people. For Connecticut, that meant a total of 20 cities.
We updated this article for 2025. This is our tenth time ranking the best cities for singles in Connecticut.
