In order to rank the snowiest cities in Maryland, we used Saturday Night Science and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) database, to see which cities in the Old Line State get the most annual snowfall.

We updated this article for 2024. This is our second time ranking the snowiest cities in Maryland.

Before we get too far, here are the annual snowfall rates for major cities:

  • Baltimore — 19.2 inches
  • Columbia — 17.0 inches
  • Germantown — 26.1 inches

The snowiest cities in Maryland are Frostburg, Cresaptown, Cumberland, Hagerstown, Thurmont, Cockeysville, Damascus, Clarksburg, Hampstead, and Mount Airy.
