This is the most wonderful place on Earth. It is near the Smoky Mountains, has lots of lakes, and is the home of the University of Tennessee. It’s easy to get around, the people are friendly, the food is good, and everything is wonderful.

Go to a University of Tennessee football game. Visit a Calhoun’s restaurant. Enjoy yourself!

Review Of Memphis by HomeSnacks User

Crime everywhere dirty streets and roads no jobs no money the people are the worst. The Christian whites are arrogant hypocrites and the regular whites are hateful drunks and druggies. Outside Dallas-Fort Worth Memphis has without a doubt the nastiness meanest people I’ve ever met. Lived there most of my life. Racism from blacks and whites add to the mix. Businesses close. Weather is hot as h**l in summer and cold as ice in winter. Rains all the time. It will rain for DAYS. About the only thing good is perhaps Topps Bar BBQ. I cannot reiterate the hatefulness and nastiness of the people that live in that city. I still think about it even though I moved away years ago. A vicious pack of vipers. But so many people in that city think Memphis is somehow good or great. Delusional.

Worst: The people. Wish I could say otherwise.

Better but still bad: weather.

Only good thing: low cost of living if you can call it that.

I love Chattanooga Tennessee. It’s such a amazing City. There’s so much to do and great places to eat. We love the Tennessee Aquarium. The city has a small-town feel. We enjoyed riding the transportation system in downtown. One of my favorite places to eat was sticky fingers barbecue. Unbelievably good food. When we go to Chattanooga I we stay in the Sheridan Hotel. It is a great place to stay.

Chattanooga is just a beautiful city. It is so close to the mountains. Awesome river bear by. A lot of attractions in the city. Lookout mountain is not too far off. Rock city is near by. Lots of hiking and camping nearby. It’s a great place to visit.

Methodology: How do you determine which city is best for singles in Tennessee anyways?

To give you the places in Tennessee which are best for singles to find one another, we used Saturday Night Science to look at a handful of metrics. Of course, we want to measure the type of people who live in each city and make some assumptions about what single people like.

So we researched the internet for a database that contains all that information.

We threw a lot of criteria at this one to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the 2019-2023 American Community Survey Census data produced for the state of Tennessee, we looked at every single city in the state. We paid particular attention to:

  • Population density
  • % of population that’s male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better)
  • % of households with kids
  • Median age
  • Number of unmarried people in each city

We then gave each city a “Singles Score.”

The higher the score, the better the city is for singles to find one another. We also limited our results to cities with over 10,000 people. For Tennessee, that meant a total of 57 cities.

We updated this article for 2025. This is our tenth time ranking the best cities for singles in Tennessee.

Read on to see why Knoxville is the talk of the town while Lakeland is probably a bit on the bland side.
