I will always love Miami, FL because I grew up there. Like any large city, there was some crime but I never experienced any in the circles I traveled in. I remember the long walks with friends on hot sunny days. We were nerds and were in constant hunt of books and oldie goldie records. My mother would take me with her all over the city to little shops. She knew where the best of everything was. I later married there and had two beautiful children. I know things have changed and I can never go home again but I still love Miami.
I remember the beach. We would pack a lunch and sit on a blanket under a coconut tree. I love to feel the sand on my bare feet and walk out into the water. The fishing was good in Miami and I was always ready to go catch some. Miami was known for its seafood, which is my favorite type of food. It is also very multicultural now but not so much when I was growing up. For me Miami is mom and home and friends. I love it!

Methodology: How do you determine which city is best for singles in Florida anyways?
To give you the places in Florida which are best for singles to find one another, we used Saturday Night Science to look at a handful of metrics. Of course, we want to measure the type of people who live in each city and make some assumptions about what single people like.
So we researched the internet for a database that contains all that information.
We threw a lot of criteria at this one to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the 2019-2023 American Community Survey Census data produced for the state of Florida, we looked at every single city in the state. We paid particular attention to:
- Population density
- % of population that’s male vs. female (closer to a 50-50 ratio is better)
- % of households with kids
- Median age
- Number of unmarried people in each city
We then gave each city a “Singles Score.”
The higher the score, the better the city is for singles to find one another. We also limited our results to cities with over 10,000 people. For Florida, that meant a total of 158 cities.
We updated this article for 2025. This is our tenth time ranking the best cities for singles in Florida.
Read on to see why Miami is the talk of the town while Auburndale is probably a bit on the bland side.
