  1. They forgot Concrete, WA. It’s a small town, but literally 80% of its residents are using/ addicted to drugs, with meth and heroin being the most rampant. The unemployment rate is ridiculously high, unless your a drug dealer, then it’s the place to be. And, to fit in with their other criteria, crime is through the roof, several vacant homes, and the school sucks! Definitely should have made it on that list.

    1. That’s sad. I lived there for a year when my grandparents owned the motel and restaurant on main. I loved being in a small town where I could run around in the “wilderness” bit out doesn’t surprise me. Small town USA is a drug den.

  2. Would you please delete those who use filthy words in their comments. Disgraceful to say the least. Reprimand them and state on your site that profanity is not to be used PERIOD.
    Thank you.

    1. Why are you trying to censor people? If you don’t like what they say then deal with it and go somewhere else, like China, where they don’t have the freedom of speech!!

  3. You obviously haven’t lived in Pacific. This is the a whole capital of Washington State nothing but crime broken out car windows in the apartments.Cobble Court Apartments refuse to do anything except call your insurance company. They won’t put up cameras in the parking lot they say they don’t want the responsibilities of if you get murdered there’s no way to prove it..wonderful place to live if you want to die

    1. Years ago, this was a nice town of small farms, and a lot of strawberry ,raspberry picking, along near the railways that also employed a few people, everyone was a pretty descent neighbor! Loved it there!
Nice stores that also had good people running them! and lots of love and compassion for others!

  4. I wish you could of seen Tacoma when I was raised there in the 50s thru the 60s. What a wonderful city to grow up in. Except back then, the tide flats smelled pretty bad because of the paper mill and other industries down there. The Union Depot actually had trains! Pt. Defience was a great place to go and the salmon bakes were delish they had on the beach. So different now, I dont even recognize downtown anymore.

  5. LOL, I lived most of my childhood in Tacoma, and it wasn’t that bad. There were bad parts that were that bad, but I would say the majority was fairly nice to pretty nice. I don’t know what it’s like now though, as I haven’t lived in WA in 13 years. They did fail to mention the Aroma Of Tacoma though 😉

  6. I lived in Pacific it’s not that bad the cobble court apartment’s are pretty ghetto but pacific park is nice if they ever take down those big Green barriers it would look way better.

    1. i live in pacific, the park got flooded again and they never cleaned it back up or unblocked it, last summer they still had the flood barriers up in august, pacific just has reallly bad property crime, although i do hear shots at night sometimes the worst i have seen is a gang fight

  7. How sad people get so butt hurt over the silliest of comments. Seems these people get their knickers in a twist to easily. 5th amendment folks for 1. Yes people could use class and not swear so much but oh well get over it. Better yet go get laid and chill a bit. Life’s to dang short. If your going to use this aticle to base where you live then your lame. Do more leg work and research. Man society as a while is sadly so amusing. You dont like how your town or city or block is viewed, change it…..clean it up.

    1. Hokium (spelled like it sounds) is Grey’s harbor. The crappiest rainiest place that has ever depressed me. I like “the beehive restraint, though. Great clam chowder.

  8. Try going to Mount Vernon Wa. I’ll tell you why it’s not on the list and should be #1. No one I mean no one talks to the police. You end up in the river. Known fact. People have literally killed people over a case of beer. No joke. It’s crime statistics are immeasurable due to a huge lack of even reporting crimes. Oh and Tacomas 10 murders a year? Hell the last year I lived in Mount Vernon one man, just one went on a shooting spree killing 6 people himself. Including a sherrif. So Tacoma is a cakewalk.

    1. Yeah honestly that’s true. I live near there and I avoid it. I get the feeling everyone there is secretly sharpening meat hooks and blinking too hard when my back is turned

  9. How about Bellingham or Everett? Dont know about crime in Bellingham much but the most unfriendly snobby people as well as a just absolutely ginormous amount of just plain odd wierd and sick dangerously il people For real! NO JOKE!Absolutely NO JOKE! Thx for ALLL the places you listed! Big help.i already have zero use interest in or respect for any of the places listed-ive already heard tons of this from others as i ask a LOT of questions and wonder where may be best places -best or better to live in WA State! Didnt know yjat AT ALL about centralia or chehalis! Heart breaking and sad to hear! Thx for telling never the less. Other than Yakima-where else in eastern Wa to avoid?!- Yes btw what said about Yakima is true conservative and mild to how bad it is there. Its REALLY severe!-day or night.Question i really have is how about good old Spokane? Afraid to ask but need to.i ve heard n been warned how bad it can be in some areas there but dont really know. Thanks for the warning and input about Mt Vernon btw.i ONKY go to the west side of the state when forced to-like the international airport. No offense ment-really sinverely not but i cant stand western wa state-tje seattle side. And yes im “scared”!-to ever go or be there! Yup you better believe it! I admit it!-Scared but alive!- so i stay away and out and will as much as possible! My heart gors out to and aches for every and anyone in any of these places who suffers where they are!-im truly very sorry and wish i could help!-im sorry that i cant but i care!

  10. This type of terrible useless dribble is not conducive to the issues and the truth…all cities have their problems but bashing doesn’t solve anything…it just exapirates the image problems that plaque these cities. A more well rounded approach would make more sense.

  11. Ive lived in Spokane for almost 40 years … yes some areas are worse than others but all in all Spokane is a great city to live in – beautiful parks – lovely 4 seaseons – many good people. Of all the places ive lived I say Spokane is best!

  12. I have lived in western Wa. My entire life except a couple years in AZ. I will tell yea Tacoma was rough on the hilltop in the 80’s but it was cleaned up quite a bit by the police a fewtimes Lakewood turned scetchy for a while it got cleaned up too, Spsnaway is housing central now and it used to be tweeked a bit also, fact is Pierce Co. Isn’t a bad spot for raisin’ kid’s/ living I call B.S. on all of hipe, if you go looking you can find trouble any place.

  13. I have lived in Tacoma for over 25 years now. I moved from Michigan, where I was born and raised. I have never in my life seen or dealt with Rasicm until I moved here. Everything in this State is geared towards the Middle Class and Rich White People!! I only say that because of how high the cost of living has become in this State! Its ridiculous that in Seattle people are being put out of their homes if they don’t make a certain amount of Money!! Forced to live on the Streets…and It will not get any better in the near future..not in the TrumpNation!! God help us ALL!! (Senseless in Seattle)!!

  14. I moved from Yakima to Spokane…went back for a visit, is never happening again. Spokane at least keeps the druggies, car thefts, crime, and poverty to “Felonie Flats” otherwise known as the “West Side”. When I left yakima, there was “the hole” now the whole city is one.

  15. AUBURN …. the home of the bicycle, mullet, and the headlamp. I have never seen such good looking, we’ll mannered people as in auburn. I actually had my leaf blower stolen out of the back of my truck at a red light. 3 hours later a kid tried to sell it to me in front of my house.

  16. I grew up in Longview Washington I love it’s caracter
Yes it’s not perfect but it is home and if the city wants to have visitors then everyone should come and visit and help by spending money at our down town corridor and check out the shops and stores in order to improve maybe bring an employer or two and also help put people back to work

  17. I’m from Tacoma born and raised in the “old Salishan” eastside of Tacoma. I love my city. Everything said about my city was not quite accurate. I dont think its all that bad. Ive lived in a different state/ cities and I felt it was a lot worse than Tacoma!! I moved back and so happy to be home!!!! #Tacoma #mycity #❤❤❤beingbackhome

  18. Born and raised in Tacoma and proud of it!!! I’m a veteran that’s been to many places around the world and when I separated from the military the one and only place I wanted to go was home. TACOMA #TACOMAPRIDE

  19. Where’s Kent everyone in the comments would get robbed gaurenteed if you out on 208 or East Hill at nite

  20. They left out Spokane(istan)…. OMG. The original crime catch and release city. Casino, AFB and jail all within spitting distance. The land of earning 30K with a BA degree and buy a house for 80-$150K and 12 years later it is still worth *80-150K!

  21. Lived in Grays Habor 8yrs only place I have a criminal history. Moved there at 38 not even a parking ticket all those years. First 3 yrs spent every month going to court in one juisdiction or another for very frivilous charges. They support the various communities with court fines assessed to outsiders. Also, forget about police help for crime perputrated on you by the hometownies. You are on your own! Not suprisingly, not one police issue since I left. Two states & three counties in 52yrs only police records reside in Grays Harbor with $30,000 in fines I refuse to pay!!! AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE & SCOURGE TO OUTSIDERS IT TRULY IS!!!
